It is indeed a summer dream to spend the day at a beautiful beach at Bali. Yihaa!

Balangan is one of the hottest new found beach at Bali lately so we decided to drive all the way to Pecatu from Denpasar, on a sunny day on Fasting Month which was quite a challenging! But we survived the day without breaking our fast that day even thou, we have to admit that the heat was pretty humid and the only solution was probably a big glass of coconut water......which wasn't happening of course hahahaa.

Finding the beach is not really hard. You'll easily spot a lot of directions to the beach on the way there plus the Balinese are all very nice and helpful you don't have to worry getting lost on your way. We needed about an hour driving to reach the beach from Denpasar via Sanur by pass. On weekend the beach is pretty cramped with people so we prefer to visit earlier in the morning on weekdays. That way, you can have the beach for yourself ;)

We didn't try the cafes there due to the fasting situation but there are a lot of options of food and the other good news is, most of the cafes directly facing the beach so if you are planning to catch the sunset, they have the best seats at the house. Even thou the beach is surrounded by cafes and pubs, the shore is really really clean. No plastics waste or empty beer bottles down at the beach so it's a relieving and pleasant things to know that people are willing to take care of our nature, not only exploiting its beauty. Super happy visit!

So it's all started when I was very very young and Sailor Moon is the coolest girl band ever on earth. They practically wearing school uniform, almost the whole time and somehow, somehow they make it look cool. I mean, hanging out after school still in uniform? It's like a pride, an identity and who doesn't love cute sailor uniform, mini skirt and knee lenght socks combination? Years later it's every where on national telly, every school girl must items are mini skirt and knee lenght socks. Turns out the new cool is something dorky before.

For me, a lil bit dorky is always cool. Sailor Moon is just a beginning of a new era in my life. It's so easy to get more obsessed since manga provides variety of cute school uniforms, some are really really totally make no sense but still, kawaiiii, and make me kinda pissed with reality cause my school uniform was not that cute. I wish I went to Japanese school.

Now, a big fashion house like Gucci and Red Valentino elevate school uniform into another level. WE. NEVER. EVER. TAKE. THEM. OFF. AGAIN.

...But in a good way because we love, love, love, love you so much Mother of Pearl. Can we have one of each piece?

Dressing up is effortless in Mother of Pearl Resort 2016 collection. Clean cut and basic colors are just our things. Plus we love just-woke-up hair and make up which for us, never gets old. We can easily picture summer days at Venice, cafes by the canal, the smell of fresh brewed coffee and buterry croisant. Probably a summer fling or two haha because well, it's Italy, a perfect place to make romance and dance under the moonlight *hopeless romantic mode on*.

It is magical how clothes can ignite our imagination, right? ;)

 

Anyway, since the brand called Mother of Pearl, we must be her legit daughter because we never run out of love for her collections. We swear we make a good mother-daughter team ;) ;) ;)

We spent last weekend at De Javasche Bank, a very charming place with picturesque corners.

It's funny that we live for quite long time but never before paid a visit to this museum. It's located at North Surabaya which takes about an hour driving from our home at South Surabaya. But beautiful place cures almost everything including a tiring traffic jam and sometimes, broken heart. Hahaha. So the building was used to be a financial institution back then when Netherlands was ruling. It has been renovated several times but they keep the basic structure and architecture from the building and only readjust the usage of the rooms inside. The highlight of the the building is an old CCTV system which uses mirror that placed in every corner of the Safe Deposit Room, a square room that has even side and a big steel deposit in the corner of the room. We can see the view of the entrance from every corner by using the mirrors  and vice versa. It's a really really cool tech that we spent half an hour just to admire every corner hahaha.

We obviously had a great time!

The very best thing about a white shirt is........it goes well with everything. 

It's like creating your favourite frozen yogurt combo. First, the base. You choose your flavour of yogurt: plain, strawberry, matcha, you name it. Next you choose the toppings. We personally love the combination of fruits and several kind of nuts and if we feel like sweeten things up, strawberry jam or honey will be the perfect final touch.

It's kinda the same with white shirt. Choose the cut or style you want, add some toppings (neckles, blings, brooch, scarf, pin, the options are infinite), sprinkle a final touch to complete the whole look and you're ready to kick the day ;)

It's very clear now that we love to relate food with fashion. Yummness multiplies by two. Or three. Or four...
